Answer to last weeks trivia question:
Johnny Weismueller originally became famous as the 1st man to ever break the 1 minute mark in the 100 M Freestyle. Due to this "amazing" ability he was given a shot at, and won the part of TARZAN, Lord of the Jungle.
The funny thing about this, is that his time (which was a world record by a long ways) wouldn't even qualify him for some of our high school league championships in this state. It would however almost qualify him for the state championships for Colorado High Schools. We truely have come a long ways in this sport.
By the way, most guesses were for Tarzan, a couple of people didn't know who he was. Keep mailing in your guesses each week. We will try and find some easier questions about swimming. |
